What are the best quality fighting, not for show, swords, and where can you get them today? Long, or scimitar?

swords
cafegroundzero asked:

Would like to know where I can get the best quality fighting swords, what types, and how much would each one cost?

Would very much like to get a sword which would rival the very best available in the technologies now existing. Prefer broad sword or long sword but a scimitar is acceptable.

Will consider foils for practice but really want something you can slice and dice with (lol).

I can’t remember his name, but there’s a guy in Scotland that makes some pretty fine claymores. And they still make the samurai in Japan the traditional way[thousands $] Wish I could help more!! You might think about an antique blade it will be cheaper, an Ames cutlass from the civil war era should run 2-4 hundred they are a working blade. And the Toledo blades have always been good, they are decent priced.

Perhaps you should look around your area to find a local amateur metal craftsman who might be able to make one for you. My son makes all kinds of knives, swords and etc. Sometimes you can stumble on someone who really makes you a work of art that can be used for what it is meant for.

    not a clue
but I shop online…90% of the time
and check out the companies in Consumers GUide(online again)
I do not drive…as I went green in 2000, so traveling by foot, bike or public transportation in florida…does not take you to far..to quickly…to easily…or comfortably. But I feel better doing so.
    Online.
    Paw Shops.
    thats what I would do.

Scotland…yes but pricey… cause the damn dollar is worth crap now.

    Happy hunting…

    I also think you’re a nut.

Who the hell carry a sword around and fight with sword today? Let me tell you something, even if you attack someone who break in your house with a sword, you’re not gonna to look too good in court’s eyes no matter what. Let lone get in a fight and use sword in a street or something.

Stick to sword fight as a hobby and collect wall hanger sword instead.

Nothing slices and dices like Japanese samurai hardware.

The old and authentic ones will come with NBTHK papers.

    Be careful!

  7. Skatta Says:

Samurai swords are the best swords humans have ever made. you need to find a japanese expert craftsman who still makes them by hand in the traditional method. but they’re really expensive.

no new method or technology comes close to making better swords than this.
