Stitch asked:

I'd like some good knives, with case and a steel that I can use for work, I prefer thin blades and cant afford to spend over about £50 at the moment.

    go to john lewis,
in the kitchen area, they have alot of brands,
    from normal to high end,
Try the Brand Called “Global” they are a little on the expensive side, but once you try it, you wouldn’t like anything else

i would spend the budget on decent professional knives even if it was only two. but as an amatuer cook i use knives by cookware. make sure the knife or knives you buy have a decent butt
