    I get what you mean, but that’s a tad bit harsh. D:

    Ryuichi Sakamoto is by far a much better composer, compared to Akiko Yano. I have no idea why the very idea was brought up in the first place. How nice their songs are, however, depends on the person listening to the piece.

    I also find her voice rather grating. What’s interesting is that it was not the way it is now on her earliest recordings such as her 1976 debut, Japanese Girl, in which she sings much more naturally and expressively.
