How do I sell hundreds of swords and knives? From my friends fathers estate sale?

swords
gracie80 asked:

My friends father recently passed away. He has hundreds of swords, knives, battle swords, samurai swords. I have tried e-bay and craigslist. Does anyone know a good place to sell these items? We are trying to pay for his burial expenses. THANK YOU!

I’d be interested in seeing some of them, ideally you’d have to find a dealer or collector in that area, I collect swords and knives, try ebay, it can take a little longer but can get you a better price if you have the time

Try a gun and knife show in your area. Maybe try to find a collector or dealer.

You could take them to an auction house in your area, sometimes when it is a large collection like the one you have they will hold a special auction.

I know there are dedicated collectors forums and sites.
One of those can help you find a collector or auction house.

I have run a google search to get you started, if these sites do not look right to you, do not post on them, I just found them I do not know them: (you need to register before you can see the post, I did not do that.) (links page) (Links page.)

You will get more sites and links when you run a search yourself, I searched on -knife collectors forum- and -sword collectors forum-

I would get a sword appraiser/blade appraiser to verify the authenticity and then put them up on ebay. You won’t get squat for them if you can’t verify them or at least be able to show what they have been valued at.
